How many gumdrops???

Lilly is finally finally starting to use the potty and we are using the gumdrop system for rewards. one gumdrop for pee and two for poo. Maddie asked me last night after looking very contemplative if Lilly could get three or more if she had the runs. She is always the little business woman just looking out for little sis!

Shoe Fetish

Greyson has a big thing for shoes of all sizes, colors and genders but he especially likes mommy's high heels. Steve is a bit concerned but i keep telling him it is just a phase. What is really amazing is that he walks really really well in high heels- Check it out!

Horizon House Prayer

This was sent to all the adoptive families- We were all wondering what the prayer was that was said daily at the orphanage since it was said in Amharic- Here it is! This will be neat to tell Greyson someday...

Horizon House Prayer

"In the name of the Father (beh semeh ab)
the son (beh wold)
and the Holy Sprit (beh menfes kidus)
One God (ahadu amlak)
Amen. (ahmen)

Our God, we pray to ask you to please bless this bread and this water,
we pray t0 ask you to please provide to those who are hungry and thirsty
and give to them with your blessings, Amen.
Let those who are working hard for others and those with giving hands be blessed.
In the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, Amen. "

Below is Sinidu, one of the fabulous cooks at Horizon House's bread recipe. She made this everyday for pretty much every meal and it was so YUMMY!

Sinidu's Bread Recipe

Yeast 1 tea spoon
Salt 1 tea spoon
Sugar 1soup spoon
Egg 1 piece
Baking powder 1 tea spoon

All this mix together in one bowel then add ½ kg wheat floor and mix it the dough well then after it rising mix will and add 1 tea spoon lemon vanilla or lime zest mix it well the it ready to beak. (Please note: they did not include the oven temperature nor how long it should bake for. Our guess is maybe 325 to 375 degrees for 30-40 mns.)

Tea for Three

Maddie took this ever so lovely shot of me and mom at Flag Fork Herb Garden last weekend. We had a nice girly lunch for my moms birthday- something we rarely if ever get to do. We thought it would be fun to bring Maddie since she is getting older and wiser but she was not into the frou frou food. She did however enjoy this day with the big girls. (Big girl is no lie-holy cow it is a good thing I have started training and some of this chunky christmas weight will come off!)

Twofer Tuesday

We had much excitement around our house as Maddie lost her first two teeth within a couple of days of one another and we awaited the arrival of the Tooth Fairy. Maddie has been dying to join the ranks of her friends who have been visited by this creature, so much so that I thought she might just yank her tooth out when she felt it was loose.

Let me just say- The tooth fairy has a hard time when the tooth is shoved WAY under the pillow- At least that is what I hear...

Christmas Part Deux

Papa made this amazing rocking horse by hand for Lilly. It is beautiful and has an inscription on it that made me cry.

Just what I always wanted!!!
Greysons first stocking experience. He caught on real quick!!!

Lilly and Maddie exploring their creative side.

Mom being pooped at the end of the day and chillin with my girls

Greyson just needed some start up help and then he ripped through all those suckers.

Candyland- Hooray!
